Noah, you're a reader!

Noah reading to Daddy...his first library book of elementary school and he's actually reading it! We are so very proud of you, Noah-boy!

How wonderful! Karson is really getting into the whole phonics thing. Mom, what does this, that, this, that start with? And, then she likes to tell me what stuff starts with. Send any good tips my way!

It's great that she's so interested. That's how Noah has been. Madeline was ONLY interested in talking and NOT in reading until almost the end of Kindergarten, so it is a relief that Noah is so interested. One thing that helped him was memorizing a couple of words and then looking for them wherever we were. It only worked because he was interested...Maddy never wanted to play that game, but he LOVED it. The 1st was his name, which he found in his Bible all the time. With Maddy we did more sounding out, but that's frustrating because there are so many rules and exceptions. We had better luck with recognizing key words to start with. That's my 2 cents!
