Yes, that is his actual birth weight! Luke Wesley Smalling arrived at 10:15 pm on Friday, June 6, 2008, weighing in at a whopping 11 pounds 1 and 1/4 ounces, 22 inches long. His footprints barely fit on the card. Needless to say, I am feeling much relief :) It was a long day, but we are SO very thankful for our FINAL little one. Luke is nursing well, and enjoying quite a bit of content time showing off his chubby blue eyes. He is the softest, squishiest baby I've ever held and I cannot get enough! The kids were so receptive to him at the hospital this morning and were sad that it was not yet time to take him home. Jack was especially loving and protective, even warning the nurse who took Luke for a hearing test (which he passed) that she needed to make sure not to drop his brother! Let's pray the goodwill continues...
Dani has a blog post (and probably LOTS of pictures) ready to go, and I'm still to tired to do more than the basics here, so Dani, you officially have my permission to blog away!
GORGEOUS little guy! Congratulations to your family! I bet all your kids are just beaming with pride.
ReplyDeleteYippee!!! What a big bundle! Luke: you are beautiful, handsome, cute, and all that....words just can't describe my big grin as I look at your sweet face. You have the most wonderful parents and siblings. You are a VERY blessed little boy. Welcome to the world!
ReplyDeleteWow!! He looks beautiful. Glad to hear that big brother Jack is protective (at least for the time being). I'll check out your mom's blog for more pictures :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! I guess Luke was getting exactly what he needed in the womb and didn't want to come out. Luke looks perfect in every way. Thank you God for a healthy baby boy! Can't wait to see more pictures.

ReplyDeletePraise God for your beautiful Luke. And that is seriously like the biggest baby I've heard of (other than like those 16 pounders you hear about on the news.) A friend of mine had one that was almost 11 lbs but your Luke beat him. Impressive. So happy for all of you.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!! And WOW that's a big baby! Did you do it natural? I did natural with a 6 pounder, and I thought that was hard! We're gonna through you a parade, my friend! Luke is so handsome... bet it feels good to hold him in your arms!
ReplyDeleteWe love our "little" guy!!!
ReplyDeleteI finally put lots of photos on my blog. He's soooo cute!!! I am very blessed.
Love, Mom/Dani
